Sensory Writing Activity for Young Children

This activity is very simple to carry out, and materials can easily be found around the house. The materials needed are some sort of tray and any substance that can be traced in. For example, you can use sand, flour, shaving cream, sprinkles, salt, etc. Children can use their fingers to write the letters, or they can also use sticks, straws, writing utensils, etc. This activity is great because a variety of open-ended materials can be used, which allows children to use their creativity.
